Dale Chihuly may be a Washington native, but both he and his extraordinary blown-glass creations are known all over the world. Chihuly Garden and Glass highlights the story of this iconic artist and showcases some of his most incredible works. Chihuly Garden and Glass consists of three main parts. The Exhibition Hall provides a good sense of Chihuly's overall career. Eight individual galleries showcase everything from his early Native American-inspired works to his Sealife collection's translucent anemones and the colorful and imaginative shapes of his Mille Fiori project. Some of the artist's best known blown-glass works are on display including his intricately crafted, wildly imagined, tentacle-like chandeliers. Next is the Glasshouse, a 40-foot tall, (12.2 meters) glass and steel structure that is home to one of Chihuly's most impressive glass pieces: a 100-foot long suspended sculpture of reds, yellows, oranges, and amber that seemingly changes with the day's natural light. Chihuly's glass works fit perfectly in the Exhibition’s third section: the outdoor Garden, a space of tree-lined paths and colorful fuchsias mixed in with the artist's organically shaped sculptures. These include his striking Crystal and Icicle Towers and Sun, an incredible centerpiece crafted from hundreds of individually-blown glass elements. Remember to bring a camera, since flash photography is permitted throughout the entire museum. However, roaming photographers are also on hand to snap a pic for you that you can e-mail to yourself at no additional cost. Selfie sticks are not permitted inside the exhibition. The onsite Collections Café serves up gourmet eats as well as sparkling wine, craft brews, and their famous strawberry lavender lemonade. Don’t miss the bookstore where you can purchase your own Chihuly artwork and peruse gifts made by over 40 local artists from the Pacific Northwest.

The neon lights were amazing in the beginning! But as I moved through the exhibit I could see that I was just the tip of the iceberg. Something you’d have to see to believe

The sculptures were incredibly beautiful and full of color. I was also impressed with the modern technology that killed germs and viruses upon arrival. So fancy!

Worth a visit when you're in Seattle. The summer evening ticket was perfect for walking the gardens. The best part of the exhibit was how the glass pieces blended well with the garden.

Thoroughly enjoyed the beauty and awe of the exhibition. Wonderful artwork and great story. I would like to see two things improved: better descriptions of the exhibit pieces (particularly his personal collections) and a better mapping of direction for better traffic flow.
