Time Elevator Rome is located in Rome’s historical center, just off Via del Corso. As you take your seat, prepare for your 3-D movie experience that whisks you through 3,000 years of Roman history in just 45 minutes.

Your seat is part of a moving platform that together with special effects and surround sound creates a multisensory journey from 773 BC to today. Travel to the glory days of the Roman Empire; eavesdrop on Brutus as he plots to kill Julius Caesar; learn about Romulus and Remus and the legend of the foundation of Rome; and stop by the Renaissance with its art and architecture icons. Move into the 20th century, and then finish with an aerial view of present-day Rome.

Personal headsets for this experience are provided in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Russian.

Everyone who enters into Time Elevator flies back in time to the legend of Romulus and Remus and the founding of the eternal city, seeing victories and defeats, development and decline of the Roman Empire, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, the Fascist period till the present day.. It’s the perfect way to complete the tour of Rome. Time Elevator Experience carries and projects the viewer towards the most significant events from a totally unique perspective, experiencing in first person a virtual contact with historical figures who have marked the main stages of the epic Rome. Corny, ok overview for your first day in Rome while you hold off the jetlag, but the mechanism under the English speaking car, at least appeared to broken. It jolted and was so jarring it seemed like gears were broken. I truly was concerned that I was going to have my back put out by the end of the ride. The whole thing appeared to need work.....

This was an interesting attraction which provided some overall background to the history of Rome. Our 10 year really liked it. Our teenagers were amused by it and my husband and I found it a nice change of pace, but certainly not a critical stop if you have a short time in Rome. I would recommend this attraction if you have plenty of time in the city or if you have kids who need a change of scenery.
