Douro Valley Small-Group Tour with Wine Tasting, Lunch and Optional Cruise.

What an amazing experience! I’ve already recommended it to so many people. João is just an incredible tour guide. He knew so much about Portugal’s history and was extremely personable and you could tell everyone on the tour enjoyed their time thanks to him. João also recommended food spots in Porto for the group and I checked one of them out and it was delicious. It was a very intimate tour with only 7 people which I really enjoyed. We all got to know each other and could ask questions easily. The wines were delicious. Everyone was super friendly. The valley is beyond beautiful. The boat ride was also very fun. 11/10 stars

We had a fabulous time on our Duoro Valley Excusion. Our guide, Alex, spoke English perfectly and share a wealth of knowledge about the wine. He took us to two wineries that were not tourist traps but that had tasty wines/port. Our lunch spot was very lovely with a 3 course meal of delicious food. The river cruise was scenic and peaceful, though the boat had a full load of pasengers. We were there in mid June and it was unseasonably HOT! We highly recommend this tour to all.

Great tour with our guide Ricardo! Beautiful scenery and story of how Porto wines are made at Douro valley. Ricardo picked us up and dropped us off at out hotel. We learned so much and had lots of fun! I highly recommend the tours and Ricardo! Great time!

Great tour to the Duoro Valley with a personable guide. The two vineyards that we toured were beautiful and their staffs very welcoming and knowledgeable. The guided Duoro River boat ride through the scenic valley was informative and relaxing and our lunch stop with traditional Portuguese fair was delightful.

What an amazing tour! The vineyards are maintained on what seem like mountains. The views, the stops and the tour guide were all outstanding. Ask for Philipe to spend your day with.

I have always wanted to visit the Douro region and our tour did not disappoint . Maria is the very best guide, storyteller ,historian and passionate local educator you could have for this tour . She explained the area, itinerary and history throughout the tour and even gave us an in-depth knowledge of the Port making process which is usually done by the individual properties . This makes it a much more memorable and informative experience . We had a boat ride which was very simple and nice up the river instead of the town visit which was appreciated as it was very hot and the steep terrain would have been difficult to navigate . Maria was a very confident and sure driver and we all felt very safe in navigating the narrow and winding streets and roads. The two properties we visited each had their merits. The lunch with the wine tasting was nice and allowed us to meet and get to know our fellow travellers . The port wine tasting though was an excellent experience from start to finish . We learned about the history of the winery , got to taste 5 ports and then purchased an additional one to taste at our table . We all ended up buying some because the taste and complexity and of course the price were outstanding . We also got to meet the head wine maker ( large family operation) and ask her questions . We were safely delivered back to our hotels with wine and many happy memories. Thank you so much Maria for making our trip fantastic . Maria is a true standout in guides as she has the combination of knowledge, compassion and love for her country which adds great intrinsic value to a tour !

We loved our wine your experience! We loved the itinerary, the boat ride was incredible and the winery’s they picked are to die for. Loved it!!

The wine tour portion was the best part of the day - the tour guide seemed knowledgeable at the wineries - However, the tour guide was late/appeared to have just gotten out of the shower when he picked us up. He Drove excessively fast and over the speed limit to make up time. We Asked a few times to slow down since we had kids in the car. He did not. The roads were also quite windy and very steep so very nerve racking to go at a higher speed. They also did the boat tour first / maybe due to weather but we did not get to walk around Pinhoa. The driver did not talk the 1.5 hrs there and back. Only at the wineries. We expected to get an overview on the way. The tour was to be 10 hrs - ours seem to be cut short by 2. It’s a beautiful region and wineries were lovely but the drivers lateness and subsequently unsafe driving (in our Minds) took away from the experience.

Our tour was great! Jorge, our guide was kind, friendly, and informative! The views along the ride as well as the stops are worth it! I would highly recommend this tour, and Jorge himself!
