Your journey through mystical New Orleans’ begins in the French Quarter. Choose a morning or afternoon start time and meet your friendly local guide for a narrated walk through the French Quarter. Discover the architectural diversity of the area as you pass French and Spanish‐inspired buildings, gorgeous Creole townhouses, ‘Entresol’ houses and shotgun homes. Catch a glimpse of a cloistered courtyard and hear of its utilitarian function.

As you stroll, enjoy tales of New Orleans’ voodoo history and peek into a small shop that specializes in voodoo ritual materials such as herbs, oils, and amulets. Hear more from your guide about a largely misunderstood religion that still enjoys a formidable presence in New Orleans.

Take a short break at the old train station. Then walk through Louis Armstrong Park where you visit Congo Square, a historical site from the 1800s. Here, slaves and free people met on Sunday to openly trade, socialize, play music, dance and practice voodoo rituals.

Please note that this tour covers about one mile of the city, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

It wasn't great.

We saw some cool places and she gave us a lot of interesting information, but the delivery was severely lacking. The "short break at the old train station," was a coffee shop and it felt like a waste of time. There was definitely no "master storytelling." We were just kind of, "meh".

Great content. Tyler was great. Unfortunately for us, the cemeteries were closed so we didn't get that prt of the tour. Tyler did his best to improvise and we had a good time!

Thank you, Rebecca! We would absolutely take you into the cemetery if it was allowed. COVID has shut a long of things down here :/ We really appreciate your feedback!

Not a cemetery tour
Kathreen_B
, Nov 2020
We were supposed to go on a tour of the cemetery and instead ended up doing a tour of the city. We already did that. It was frustrating that we weren’t informed that the cemetery was closed and given the option to get out money back. The only good thing that happened was we got to take a “break” and get drinks, but the tour guild wouldn’t let you drink it while walking because in order to drink you have to remove your mask. Very frustrating.

Hi there! We list in multiple places that we cannot go inside the cemetery right now due to COVID-19. Right at the very top of the page on Viator in all caps you can read it, as well as in the follow-up confirmation you are supposed to be sent and in the COVID precautions section. We are so sorry that you did not read that before purchasing your tickets. In terms of the mask-wearing, your guide was just doing his job to protect the guests on his tour. He takes that duty very seriously! Due to the confusion, we have refunded you in full. Again, we do state in multiple places that COVID-19 has temporarily shut down the cemeteries. We're sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your experience with us.
