  • Meet your guide in central Lisbon and begin your small-group gourmet food and wine tour. Throughout the tour, meet locals and learn about traditional Portuguese dishes and culinary culture. Warm up your taste buds during a visit to a local restaurant, with petiscos—Portugal’s version of tapas.

Learn about Lisbon’s cafe culture with visits to the 18th-century Café Nicola, a terrific spot for tertúlias, and discover why Pastelaria Suiça is another landmark of Rossio. You also have a chance to try the famous Portuguese codfish cake with a glass of refreshing vinho verde (green wine).

Continue to a wine bar in the Bairro Alto quarter for tapas and a glass of local white wine. In the 20th century, Bairro Alto became Lisbon’s bohemian quarter and the center of its nightlife.

Visit a much-loved local restaurant, known for its seafood and steaks. Then head down the steps of Calçada do Duque, where you find a variety of restaurants with great esplanades and music. The area is especially popular during the summer months because of the views over Castle Hill.

Then discover the 100-year-old secrets behind Lisbon’s most delectable sausages, salted cod, hams, and cheeses at a local gourmet shop. At a nearby bar, sip a classic Portuguese cherry brandy and note its similarities with Port, Portugal's famed fortified wine. Learn about the history of the sweet drink as you taste it alongside a piece of São Jorge cheese.

Learn the history of ginjinha, the favorite liqueur of many Portuguese, as you sample it in a nearby bar. Afterward, go to Portas de Santo Antão Street, one of the city’s main entrances, where part of the old Fernandine wall once sat.

Finish your gourmet Portuguese food and wine tour with a meal at a gorgeous 17th-century palace. Taste chouriço sausage, bread, and other local products served with a glass of delicious red wine while admiring one of the most captivating Lisbon interiors. Your tour concludes here.

Nice intro to Portuguese Food & Drink

Our tour guide Andre was great and very informative. We enjoyed all of the food and drinks provided and felt the quantiles were sufficient. We were disappointed though that the tour didn’t conclude with a pastry and also we expected the tour to cover a greater area of Lisbon, the description said for example we would go to a bar with great views however our tour was all centred around Rossio Square. It was definitely an enjoyable tour but would have been nice to venture to different neighbourhoods .

I love food tours. I do them in almost every country I visit. It's such a great introduction to the cuisine, and it always has a little hint of history woven in, too. Our guide had such a great sense of humor and was so informative. We got so much food and drink for the price of the tour and had a great time.

As a solo traveller, these trips are always a great way to meet other travellers and learn about their adventures over a meal/snack/drink. Margarida (Duarte) was our guide. Margarida has a wealth of knowledge about the city, the dishes and the establishments visit. I recommend.

I might have felt different about this tour if a similar one I took in Porto was taken later. The one in Porto was excellent, including the guide, food, and drink. The tour guide for this one was good, he was knowledgeable. Some of the places we had repeat of food from our Porto tour, but the food was better in Porto. All in all, this one is more of a street food tour.

My wife and I had a great time on the tour with Ricardo! He was knowledgeable, funny and kind. Each stop featured a food and drink pairing, ending with a sit down experience at a restaurant with wine and snacks. We will be recommending Ricardo and the tour to anyone planning a Lisbon visit.
