This activity will end right where it started.
Your trip will begin at the Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence, where you’ll meet your guide. Then hop aboard and enjoy the 1-hour train ride from Florence to Pisa.

Once there, head to Piazza dei Miracoli with your guide, where you’ll find the Duomo, the Baptistery and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Enjoy 1.5 hours to explore these top attractions independently.

Afterward, return to the train station to head toward La Spezia, switching trains toward Riomaggiore just over an hour later. Here you’ll enter the beloved Cinque Terre, comprising five villages along the Italian Riviera.

Hop off to stroll the charming streets with your guide. The buildings along each fishing village are brilliantly colored in pinks, yellows and blues and make a stunning backdrop for your photos.

Continue by train to the village of Manarola, which is rumored to have more grapevines than any other Cinque Terre town. Check out the harbor before heading to your final stop, the village of Vernazza. Excellent way to spend the day!!! Valentina, our tour guide was awesome and super informative. She even went above and beyond to recommend her favorite places to eat/visit while in Italy!! The tour was a long full day, but you will take many trains to relax from lots of walking! It is also a great way to learn about the train system and how the process works!!! We recommend 100%

This is a great tour to experience multiple cities and areas. Our guide Francesca was wonderful! She was prompt, knowledgeable, and has a pleasant and energetic personality. The Pisa trip has plenty of time for pictures, a trip up the tower if desired, and to grab a snack. The Cinque Terre portion was a bit hectic depending on the trains, and time was limited usually to 1h or less in each town. However, this is great if you’re just wanting a glimpse for experience, views, and to scope out future travel. Overall good experience.

Kind and personable, she was able to think on her feet when the transportation situation didn’t go according to plan, and got us quality time everywhere you want to see. This is a great way to see Pisa and Cinque Terre if you are using Florence as your base. It's a long day on trains but was worth seeing two cities. Valentina was very accommodating getting 11 people from each stop all day. Keep in mind that the day starts at 7 and you get back to the train station at 7:30 that evening.

Too many train connections for so little time at each stop. Guide was good at navigating through train connections but that was it. No additional information offered. I wish she offered background of sites, cities, towns, history, etc. Would not recommend for the time and money.

Easy day trip from Florence to see Italy

We really enjoyed this trip! It was a long day, roughly 12 hours, with lots of walking and train time but it is worth it! If you are someone who doesn’t mind lots of moving throughout the day (navigating the trains and walking through the coyote) then I highly recommend it.

Great way to see everything in one day!

Overall, this trip was very fun and saw lots of things. However, the beginning was a little frustrating. We were not contacted the night before about confirmation of where and what time to meet. We ended arriving at the train station at 6:45 as the tour said 7am. We got there and ended up not leaving until 7:45 for our train. It seems that the start of the trip was unorganized. After that, everything was pretty else was pretty good! Our guide, Eliza, was super helpful and nice and tried her best to answer all our questions. She was amazing! Before booking this trip, I would keep in mind to be flexible about train times as those can change and you may have to rush to the next train to ensure you get back to Florence not too late. Otherwise, it was a really fun day!

I think this should be a must-do day trip to anyone arriving to Florence for more then 2 days! The trip takes you to Pisa and the e beautiful and romantic scenes and houses of chinqa terra. Try to get Valentina as your guide so she will make sure you get the best of the day, give you knowledge and take care of all your needs. More then that, she is a kind and caring person that helped us in stuff beyond the trips need with great devotion !

We had a blast on our trip. Our tour guide, Emma, was the perfect balance of knowledge without overbearing details. She allowed time for individual exploration and was always waiting for us at the meeting point. She was engaged without intrusion and the experience of riding the trains in the middle of high tourism was reminiscing of my NYC days. Our guide Carlota was great - very friendly and helpful. The towns were beautiful and a highlight of our trip. A lot of shops were closed but we excpected that this time of year. Tour was as described and had time for everything even with a small train delay - even time to swim if it had been warmer !

Couldn't be more pleased with our trip; the perfect mix of assistance and independence! Eduardo handled all the transportation, guided us through the maze of stations and schedules and made sure had time to make all our connections. He was there to offer suggestions at each stop but let us explore on our own. Can't think of a better way to see these destinations in one very full day!

This is what I wanted and expected. We were guided to Pisa and three of the five villages of Cinque Terre. The guide provided some explanation of the site but we were left to explore on our own, which is what I wanted. Do not expect to be able to go into the tower of Pisa or other ticketed events because you will not have time due to the pace of the trip, about an hour at each stop. I do wish there was more communication from the tour company. Our guide was 45 minutes late to start the tour and we had no way to know what was going on because the office was closed at seven in the morning.

I cannot begin to express how disappointed I was with this "tour." This was not led by a tour guide but by a person who leads you from train to train. No interesting information was given at each stop except for 3 minutes at Pisa. The sites were beautiful but I need to look them up online to see what made them special/unique. The escort told us that her boss was accompanying her to review her performance, although he spoke no English and did not help at all. At each stop, she was holding hands with him (I assume it was her boyfriend). I will say that they were both very nice and she would answer a question if one was asked. Cinque Terre and Pisa were beautiful. My suggestion would be that the tour operator be transparent and state that this is not a tour but someone to guide you to a train. If that expectation was set then all would be OK. I would also encourage the guide to be transparent and truthful. This was a complete disappointment.

By reading your review my opinion is that you had a different expectation from what we actually promote. Your disappointment comes from the fact that the guide did not walk you around explaining in detail the site, but this is not what we sell. Under the description of the tour we clearly mention that this is not a guided tour with a guide following you throughout. Although, given prior notice, it's a service that we can organise. This is clearly evident in the positive reviews of this particular tour from our other customers. Our tour is led by a tour leader who shares with you cultural & historical infos of the whole area through speeches organised / spread during the day. We are a company for young backpackers and travellers on a budget and our philosophy is to show you the best destinations including Cinque Terre with locally trained guides without overloading you with unnecessary information. We are sure, if you asked your guide to provide more info, she would have been glad to do so. The Cinque Terre are five fishing villages is more celebrated for its beauty than its historical value so we hope that not being satisfied does not come from a different expectation of the area. For this reason we stand by the fact that we don't promote this tour as a guided tour with a guide but as a tour led by a tour leader (in Italy they are two different typology of guidance) and it's a mix of free time and guidance all of which is clearly stated in the description. We aplogize for the misunderstanding and we hope you will be able to join us again in the future as we have several types of tour for all tastes and needs. In the future we are happy to organise something more suitable to your needs.

This tour is definitely worth your while if you are on a tight schedule. Our tour guide Paula was amazing, so friendly she showed us where to eat, what drinks to try and what gelato was the best. We visited 3 of the villages and spent good hour or more at each one.

We have a good start in Firenza but it gets rainy in Pisa and some roads are flooded during our walk back to station. Cinque Terre are small and moderately quiet places worth a visit. While it is rather good in the pictures dont expect too much time in each village.
