Stop at the impressive Rainbow Falls outside of Hilo, then head for the rainforest, waterfalls and sheer sea cliffs of the Hamakua heritage coast. In Hilo, see where the tsunamis of 1946 and 1960 hit the city, then explore the 30-acre (12-hectare) Liliuokalani Japanese Gardens.
Next up is the tour's highlight: a visit to Volcanoes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will see the Jagger Museum, a volcanic caldera and the Thurston Lava Tube. Continue to the Punalu'u black sand beach, a favorite hangout for the Hawaiian green sea turtles.
Stop at South Point, the United States' most southern point, where they Polynesians made their Hawaiian landing on the dramatic sea cliffs a thousand years ago. Take a tour of the Painted Church and drive down to the overlook, from which you can see the spot where Captain Cook fell in 1779.
Cruise back up the scenic Kona coast for drop-off at your accommodation.

Itinerary
The must see Location on the Big Island. Kilauea Volcano, see the Visitors center, Halemaumau Crater & the Caldera. Massive changes were made to this area in the 2018 Eruption. Also see Steam vents. Option to eat lunch at the Volcano House over looking the Crater. Take a drive down Chain of Craters rd past majestic giant Ferns, seeing old Lava flows Craters and exploring Lava Trees.

The only remaining intact Pu'uhonua (Place of Refuge) on any of the Islands. This is the most important and protected Hawaiian Historical site on any of the Islands. This is where the KAPU. The belief system Pre-Christianity was practiced. A must see site on any visit to the Big Island, in a beautiful and unspoiled location.
