From here you'll head to the Domus Transitoria to see the ruins of Nero's first palace, which was burned down by a fire in 64 AD. He ordered a new and grander palace be built, the Domus Aurea that connected both palaces so he could easily get across town via tunnels without being seen or being in danger. Next you'll discover Neronian's Cryptoporticus, an Ancient Roman covered corridor or passageway about 130 meters long, once part of the Domus Tiberiana on the Palatine Hill. The underground corridor from the Neronian period is lit by small loophole windows, with mosaic floors, and, on the ceiling, you can see a stucco decoration.
