The Basics

This picturesque neighborhood is best experienced on foot, and tour choices run the gamut from general or historical to haunted. The former typically feature popular highlights such as the historic Lafayette Cemetery No. 1, famous antebellum houses, and the eclectic shops and restaurants of Magazine Street; meanwhile, the latter includes paranormal tales of the neighborhood where Interview with a Vampire, Dracula 2000, and American Horror Story: Coven were filmed. Some driving tours combine seeing the sights by private vehicle with stops at top attractions.

Walking Tour in New Orleans Garden District
Erin was an excellent tour guide; Both architecturally and Historically knowledgeable. She was engaging with the large group; her Personality and comedic timing combined with her knowledge to make her quite an excellent tour guide. She monitored our group safety warning us about New Orleans sidewalks and group safety as well. I would highly recommend her if you want to enjoy a tour and also get excellent information about New Orleans.

Garden District Tour in New Orleans
It was hot. The guide was Toast. He did a great job explaining the architecture and its history. We moved at an appropriate pace for the heat. Toast had good stories about what went on in the area from 1700’s to now.

New Orleans Garden District Walking Tour
We loved all of the insight that Renee shared with us. She knew so about the area, past and present and blended them very well. It was the perfect pace and she made sure to keep us comfortable and out of the sun so it wasn't nearly as hot. She was very open to questions and we enjoyed her sense of humor. Group was small and personable. Renee was also great to give us directions on exactly how to get to where we were supposed to meet up via the trolley car we were riding. So so helpful.
